Performance & Powertrain

Every 2026 Compass uses a single powertrain: a 2.0L DOHC intercooled turbocharged four-cylinder producing 200 hp at 5,000 RPM and 221 lb-ft of torque at 1,750 RPM. An 8-speed automatic transmission (8F30) sends power to all four wheels through Jeep Active Drive 4x4 as standard. The Trailhawk adds Active Drive Low for low-range gearing.

Fuel economy on the Latitude is rated at 23 city / 31 highway / 26 combined mpg. EPA fuel economy ratings The remaining five trims are rated at 24 city / 32 highway / 27 combined mpg. The 13.5-gallon fuel tank takes regular unleaded gasoline. Towing capacity is 2,000 lbs across all trims, which covers a small boat or utility trailer. Ground clearance measures 8.1 inches, supporting the Compass's trail-capable stance.

Interior, Comfort & Cargo

The 2026 Compass seats five and offers 41.8 inches of front legroom and 38.3 inches of rear legroom. Rear shoulder room reaches 55.1 inches, which is sufficient for three adults on shorter trips. Total passenger volume is 100 cubic feet.

Cargo behind the second row measures 27.2 cubic feet, expanding to 59.8 cubic feet with the rear 60/40 split-bench folded flat. A power liftgate is standard on the Limited, Limited Altitude, and Trailhawk trims, while lower trims include a standard liftgate.

Heated front seats come standard on every trim, including the base Latitude. The driver seat on the Latitude and Latitude Altitude is a manual 6-way unit. The Limited, Trailhawk, and Limited Altitude upgrade to an 8-way power driver seat with power recline, height, fore/aft, cushion tilt, and 2-way power lumbar support. Seat materials progress from cloth/vinyl on the Latitude and Latitude Altitude, to cloth on the 85th Anniversary Edition, to leatherette on the Limited and Limited Altitude, with a cloth/leather combination on the Trailhawk.

Dual-zone automatic climate control is standard on the 85th Anniversary Edition, Limited, Trailhawk, and Limited Altitude. The Latitude and Latitude Altitude use single-zone automatic climate control.

Technology & Infotainment

The Latitude and Latitude Altitude use an 8.4-inch Uconnect center touchscreen. The Limited, Trailhawk, and Limited Altitude step up to a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen integrated smoothly into the dash. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all six trims.

A six-speaker audio system is standard. The nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system is available as an upgrade. An optional Sun, Sound and Nav Group adds a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation, and additional content. Alexa Built-in voice assistant and a wireless charging pad are available via option packages on select trims.

Remote engine start via key fob is standard on every trim. All models include two 12V DC power outlets. A panoramic sunroof is included as standard on the 85th Anniversary Edition and available as an option on other trims.

Safety & Driver Assistance

Every 2026 Compass includes Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Mitigation with steering assist, Blind-Spot Warning with Rear Cross-Traffic Warning, Driver Attention Warning, and a Rear Seat Reminder as standard equipment. Seven airbags, including front and rear side-curtain airbags, are included across all trims.

The Limited, Trailhawk, and Limited Altitude add rear parking sensors and rain-sensing windshield wipers. Adaptive Cruise Control with stop-and-go traffic function is standard on the Limited and Limited Altitude, and available on the Trailhawk. Pedestrian and cyclist detection with automatic braking is listed among available active safety content on higher trims.

Jeep backs the 2026 Compass with a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty, and 5-year/60,000-mile roadside assistance. Corrosion perforation coverage is unlimited in distance for 5 years.
